Flux - Measure, understand, intervene
The Metal Work FLUX Series flowmeter family includes various sizes, from 0 to 4.
These devices are widely used in industrial applications to measure the flow rate of compressed air in various areas of a pneumatic system. The flowmeters can be employed to control individual components or the entire system, monitor leaks, or dose a precise volume of air or inert gases.
The versions ranging from size 0 to size 2 allow measurements with a full scale from 50 to 4,000 Nl/min. The miniaturized FLUX 0 version enables the measurement of flow rates up to 200 Nl/min and features a three-color display that allows users to view and set various functions. It is equipped with 2 digital outputs and one analog output, configurable to measure instantaneous flow, cumulative flow, or pressure, thus functioning as a flowmeter, flow switch, manometer, or pressure switch.
The other sizes measure flow rates up to 2,000 Nl/min (FLUX 1) and 4,000 Nl/min (FLUX 2). These models feature a robust anodized aluminum body with G 1/2” (FLUX 1) and G 1” (FLUX 2) inlet and outlet threads, on which the electronics for measurement and control are mounted. A flow linearization device is installed at the inlet, ensuring excellent measurement accuracy. The flowmeters can be installed in any orientation, and the display can be rotated 90°, 180°, or 270°, allowing for easy data reading at all times. The FLUX 1 and 2 models can be used individually or integrated into an air treatment unit of the Syntesi Series.
The larger sizes allow for the measurement of flow rates up to 8,000 Nl/min (FLUX 3) and 15,000 Nl/min (FLUX 4), and are typically used at the plant's inlet or downstream from the compressor room, where adequately filtered air is present.
They are available in versions with or without a display, featuring an M12 connector for power supply and signal management. The power supply can range from 12 VDC (-10%) to 24 VDC (+30%). The versions with a display also include a pressure and temperature transducer, which, thanks to a software algorithm, minimizes measurement error within the specified temperature range listed in the catalog. All versions have an IP65 protection rating.
The display shows the values of flow rate, pressure, temperature, and the graphs of instantaneous and cumulative values. It also calculates and displays the electric power used to produce the measured flow
From a communication standpoint, there is a PNP digital output—configurable for flow rate, pressure, or total consumption—and an analog output that can be set to voltage (0-10 VDC) or current (4-20 mA). Versions with IO-Link interface are also available, offering similar functionalities. The FLUX 1, 2, 3, and 4 versions can therefore function as flowmeters, flow switches, manometers, or pressure switches, and are suitable for use with compressed air or inert gases.
